heyday has a blog!

WELCOME!

Wahoo!!! Heyday has a blog! We aren't totally sure how this blog will morph or what twists and turns may lie ahead with it, but we do know that we want it to be a place of inspiration. Whether that is through a good burst of laughter, sharing of the heart, or a braid tutorial...We hope you will find it to be an authentic piece of awesomeness to your day!

We are super excited to have our fist entry be by a GINORMOUS hearted, creative bad ass and one of the coolest Portland gals EVERRR! May we introduce to you, ANGIE HEINEY! The woman behind FROCK BOUTIQUE, a fabulous experience in Portland, Oregon!

Much Love,

Kristi

After decades of believing I was abnormal, being stuck as a people pleaser, walking on eggshells, feeling like an alien in my body, looking for outside validation, being terrified of aging, & basically just hating myself, I am finally living my HEYDAY!

A lot has changed in my life and mindset and I am finally hitting my stride. I have become kinder, gentler, less judgemental, and more nurturing & loving towards myself as well as others. I know now that it's impossible to please others so I had better please myself. I have embraced my personality and body and realize that the most important relationship in my life is the one I have with myself.

I turned 50 in May and I coined the phrase, "found at fifty" because I have finally found myself. I have never been stronger or more confident and I have never felt sexier or more stimulated & creative.

My mantra is "the best is yet to come" and I believe it will never change. I like the positive anticipation and continuous imporovement of it's sentiment. I love my business, Frock Boutique, and do not believe in retiring. I want to stay active forever.

After a lifetime of going hither & yon trying to guess what would please my parents, peers, or most current boyfriend yearning for validation from outside sources, I have finally arrived. I am living my HEYDAY! Ladies, just wait until you see 50!!! And, on top of that, the best is yet to come!
